hallow's eve

Poetry

hallow's eve

"trick or treat, trick or treat"
you tricked me.
i waited on the steps
carved pumpkin on my head
basket in my hands
asking for love only for you to be a
g h o s t

you could have been anything but
you chose to be a monster.
i was the dog at your door
if this is what i fell for,
i'm scared of hallow's eve
i'm scared, i'm scared
i don't want to be burned by the torch of your
ANGER
if i finally succumb
if i give you my gun
will i die on hallow's eve?
