No Good Light Below

There's no good light here below, on death row.
Mama knew I was an angry young man.
Today I will reap what I sow, on death row.

See that window sitting way up high
I can't look up enough to see the sky.
There's no good light here below, on death row.

Don't want a preacher man to come around.
I don't need him to lay my burdens down.
Today I will reap what I sow, on death row

The Lord knows that I've had my fill.
I pray, but there's an evil in me still.
There's no good light here below, on death row

When they ask me for my last request,
Tell my mama that I did my best.
Today I will reap what I sow, on death row.

I've got a calendar hanging on my wall
It marks today that I'll get the call.
There's no good light here below, on death row
Today I will reap what I sow, on death row.
